Introduction: Krabi Cat Cafe

We recently spent some time exploring Krabi in Thailand, and found a real hidden gem with this Krabi cat cafe. Located just off Tonsai Beach it’s the perfect spot to take a break away from the stunning beach and enjoy some local food, fresh drinks and of course the playful cats. Capone’s Pyramid Cafe is maybe not your traditional cat cafe, but that’s what makes it so special and one of our favourite places.

Tonsai Beach is amazing in its own right, and if you are in Thailand you definitely should visit. If you are interested in learning more about Tonsai please see this guide: How to Get to Tonsai Beach Thailand (The Quieter Alternative to Railay Beach)

Capone’s Pyramid Cafe is located about a 15 minute walk from Tonsai Beach through the charming little streets. It’s extremely laid back, and an amazing experience. Please see the location here:

Our Experience

We arrived at Tonsai Beach at around 9:30am and enjoyed the beach for the morning. We then walked up to Capones Pyramid Cafe for juice, coffee, lunch, and cats! The place is very local, and the laid back charm was instantly inviting. There is no fee, and you are welcome to come in, find a table and order food and/or drinks.

There were a couple of other guests, but overall the place was fairly quiet. All the staff were friendly, happy to talk, and clearly loved cats. Capone’s Pyramid Cafe is subtle and you would barely notice that it is a Krabi cat cafe, however once we stepped inside we were greeted by two cats.

Cats

The team told us they currently have 6 cats. Our understanding is that they were partly stray cats which have been taken in to be cared for and simply looked after, which is something we support.

The cats were free to come and go too, which is a nice change from more urban and traditional cat cafes, and works well due to its unique location. Niki was adorable and sat with us, playing, grooming, and having a little sleep.

Food & Drink

Capone’s Pyramid Cafe serves a mix of dishes, notably local Thai food and some more western options too. There were also the classic Thai shakes, tea & coffee, soft drinks, and alcohol. Dishes were around £3-5 depending on your choice, and drinks £1-2.

We ordered a shake & iced coffee to drink, and a massaman & tom kha for lunch. It was fantastic and we would definitely go back just for the food.

Final Thoughts: Krabi Cat Cafe

If you love cats, then don’t miss Capone’s Pyramid Cafe. Tonsai is a great, relaxing day trip from Ao Nang, and this is the perfect place to enjoy a lazy lunch with some feline friends. Next time we are in Thailand, we will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
