Eurocamp Introduction

We’ve found ourselves holidaying with Eurocamp more and more in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. Eurocamp is a fantastic budget-friendly option that suits everyone. From families with kids to couples looking for a relaxed & affordable getaway. With so many campsites and destinations to choose from, it’s definitely a holiday worth considering. We actually met while working on Eurocamp campsites over 10 years ago, so we’ve seen plenty of them first-hand. More recently, we’ve stayed at several as holidaymakers too. That means we can give you an honest Eurocamp review and guide to help you decide whether a Eurocamp holiday is still worth it.

So what exactly is Eurocamp? Eurocamp is a popular holiday provider which offers self-catered camping and mobile home breaks across Europe. You can stay in fully equipped mobile homes, lodges, or safari tents located on amazing campsites. These parks often feature swimming pools, kids’ clubs, restaurants, shops and activities, making them a flexible and affordable alternative to package holidays. With destinations ranging from the French Riviera to the Italian Lakes and the Spanish coast, Eurocamp is well worth considering for the freedom of the outdoors with the comfort of homey accommodation.

To give a quick idea on prices, in May and September as a couple we have booked Eurocamp for as little as £60 per night. This includes the accommodation and access to the whole campsite. In high season for a family, sure it will be more expensive. However, from a quick search for a family of 4, the last week of July in Costa Brava there are options from £150 per night. We think that’s fantastic value!

What to Pack and Consider

If it’s your first time doing Eurocamp, then you might have a few questions about what to pack. Don’t worry, we have included a helpful packing list in our Eurocamp review & guide. Of course, take the usual holiday clothes etc. – this list is the extras to consider for Eurocamp.

If you are planning to drive or hire a car, then sometimes buying some of these items from a supermarket might be beneficial to save on luggage space. If you do have access to a car, we truly recommend starting your holiday with a quick trip to a supermarket to stock up on supplies.

Bedding & Towels

This is the big one, which we always find annoying. Nearly all of Eurocamp accommodation will include the duvet and pillows but not the bed covers, sheets and towels. You can add this on easily, however it is quite pricey. If on a budget, we recommend bringing some old or cheap bedding and towels with you. It actually takes less space than you think. We have also found buying them in a large supermarket can be cheaper than hiring from Eurocamp.

Toiletries

Unlike in most hotels, you will need basic toiletries too. You won’t have shower gel, hand soap, or shampoo. If you have the space, you can bring this with you. Otherwise, you will need to buy it while you are out there. Either from the campsite shop, or a larger supermarket.  Similar to toiletries, you will only be given one loo roll, which probably won’t last the week. When in the shop, you can easily buy more.

Chargers & Adapters

This one is more obvious, but we don’t want you to forget! Make sure you have chargers and a EU plug adapter for your holiday.

Seasoning & Cooking Oil

If you are planning on cooking, you will obviously need food! However, it’s easy to forget you won’t have salt, pepper, herbs, spices, and oil. Again this is very easy to buy, but we often try to bring some little sachets to save buying a whole new one and only using a tiny bit.

Cards & Games

Eurocamp used to provide a pack of cards to guests, but this seems to have sadly stopped. We really recommend taking some cards or games to enjoy playing in the evening at your mobile home.

Swimming Shorts

We’ve found some campsites, mainly in France, can be strict on the swim wear for men. So you might need to look into what to bring with you. You can find more on this Eurocamp Information Page.

Extra Info

Don’t worry about hairdryers, these are included! You will also get a small cleaning kit, as you do need to keep your mobile home clean and leave it in a decent state. Trust us, as previous Eurocamp Reps a well left mobile home is really appreciated!

Advantages of Eurocamp

We wanted to provide you with a quick overview of the main advantages in our Eurocamp review.

  • Affordable and easy to tailor to your budget with many options available.
  • Great accommodation options to suit everyone.
  • Your own kitchen to cook meals – great if you are on a budget.
  • Your own decking. We loved sitting here in the evening, if you have kids once they have gone to bed you have somewhere to enjoy instead of being stuck on the 10th floor in a hotel room.
  • Campsite facilities are fantastic for adults and children.  Often including swimming pools, sports, entertainment, restaurants and kids’ clubs.
  • A great place to meet new people, or to book with friends and family.
  • The campsites have always been safe, clean and well maintained.
  • Often you can visit key sights and cities using public transport. We have visited Barcelona, Venice, Split and Rome recently while staying at Eurocamp.

Disadvantages of Eurocamp

There are some negatives to consider too, but overall these shouldn’t stop you.

  • Accommodation is mainly mobile homes/static caravans. We love this, it’s cosy and there are many options, but it might not be for everyone!
  • Some locations you might need a car to easily get around.
  • The campsites can get busy in the high season. We recommend going out of the main season if you can.
  • You will need to pack or pay for some hotel essentials such as towels. More details above!
  • There is less holiday rep presence in more recent years which is a shame to see.

Our Campsite Recommendations

As mentioned, we have seen our fair share of Eurocamp Campsites. We thought it would be helpful to share some of our favourites with you to help you decide if you are considering where to go. If we are being honest, we’ve never had a bad experience and all the campsites have been fantastic. There’s plenty of information online about the different campsites, so we are sure you will find a great option.

Le Beach Garden – Marseillan-Plage, Languedoc, France

This is a fantastic campsite for families and couples. The adult only spa and pool was a great place to unwind as a couple. The overall entertainment and pools are superb, and you have direct beach access.  Marseillan-Plage is a perfect small holiday town with many restaurants, shops and a market to explore. From there you can get the bus or train to explore more of the region. We have visited Sete, Bezier, Montpellier & Nimes. It’s a great option if you won’t have a car and it is less than 15 miles from Béziers Cap d’Agde Airport.

Le Ranc Davaine – St Alban, Ardeche, France

This is a beautiful campsite, located on the Ardeche River in a charming and peaceful setting. It’s great for couples who enjoy the outdoors, but there is still plenty to do for families, including great attractions, pools, and entertainment. Our highlight was kayaking under the stunning Vallon-Pont-d’Arc. This one we recommend having a car, as the campsite is fairly remote and the attractions and local towns are best reached by car.

Bella Terra – Blanes, Costa Brava, Spain

Great if you are wanting direct beach access, great pools and entertainment. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby. Blanes is a lovely town to explore and we enjoyed the markets and little beach-front cafes. It’s also only an hour away from Barcelona, making Bella Terra an amazing option for couples and families who want to explore the city and benefit from the camping beach holiday. We found this another great option if you won’t have a car. There are plenty of places to walk to, and public transport is easily accessible.

Camping Village Fabulous – Rome, Italy

Again, there are great pools and entertainment to enjoy on this campsite. It’s also open for much longer than some other parks so is a good option to visit out of season. What makes it a great choice is the easy access by public transport to both Rome and to the beach. This allows you to explore the city, and still be able to switch off and enjoy the campsite’s facilities. We also did a day trip to Naples from Camping Village Fabulous. This is an easy location without a car, as there is a bus directly outside of the campsite. However, a car might be beneficial to easily explore more of the area at your own pace.

Amadria Park Camping Trogir – Dalmatia, Croatia

Last, but not least! Amadria Park is located in Trogir, which is only 30 minutes to Split. A great base if you want to explore the historic cities of Croatia, but also have a quieter location to enjoy your holiday fully. This campsite is stunning, it’s one of the best maintained we have seen and it’s a lovely destination for couples. You also have great pools, beach access, and lots to do for families. There’s good public transport to Trogir and Split, so you won’t need a car unless you wish to explore at your own pace. We found Uber was also very affordable and convenient there.

Overall Eurocamp Review

In our opinion, Eurocamp is 100% worth it, and we are highly likely to book one next year. It’s an unforgettable holiday for families, and we are confident children will love it and make forever memories. For couples, it’s also a fantastic option to experience the outdoors, while having the luxury of a mobile home and the campsite facilities. We really enjoy the parks which are located close to attractions or sights, giving you the best of a city break, and relaxing campsite holiday in one. The affordability and range of options also make Eurocamp a fantastic option.

We really hope our Eurocamp review and guide has been helpful. If you do have any questions, please let us know in the comments.
